Vimmy, the nadan curry was excellent. One of the best chicken curry I made so far.. Thank you 🙂
Thanks for the lovely feedback Gemcy 🙂
There is no need of red chilli for the nadan chicken curry? The photo shows red curry though you instruct to add coconut milk in plenty
Kindly revert
Dr Harish Nair
Hi Harish,
There is no need to add red chilli for the above recipe. Instead we are adding green chilli. Cooking with green chilli and coconut milk and other spices gives a very special flavor to the curry prepared. Hence the color of the curry prepared is brownish. Happy Cooking!!!!
Cheers

Hi Vimmy, this recipe looks fantastic and I want to try it… But the only issue is that I live abroad and cannot source thin and thick coco milk. What do I do, are there any substitutes? Please do let me know…
Hi VK…..I am sure you would get ready to use coconut milk cans there. For thin coconut milk, with 1/2 cup of ready to use milk add half cup of water. For thick one you can use it like that itself, or dilute it little if coconut milk is very thick in the cans. I always buy ready to use and dilute as per the consistency required. Sorry to say there is no substitute for this, as its coconut milk which gives a unique taste for this curry.
Thanks
Vimmy 🙂
Fantastic, practical tip 🙂 Thank you, will try this in the next couple of weekends. I tried your spicy chicken fry and the little steaming trick in the pressure cooker worked a treat! Uncooked insides and crisp outside had been an issue for long but not any more thanks to you Vimmy!
Thanks VK 🙂

Dear Jasmine,
I really dont know what went wrong when you cooked this curry. This is the first time, i am getting a negative comment for this recipe. One very quick feedback, if you dont like the taste of coconut milk, then its not the recipe of your choice.

Vimmy!!!!
A fantastic curry that really impressed when I cooked it for my family. We are from Birmingham in the UK where there is a high Asian population and we have grown up eating a wide range of authentic Indian curries. This was a welcome addition to our repertoire! Thank you!
Dear Jake….Glad to know that my recipe is reaching different part of the world and is being liked by people :-)…….Happy Cooking!!!!
Hi Vimmy
I like it very much, We are suppose to have with Kerala rice, whether do you have any other kind of suitable recipe.
Thanks Suneesh!!!! I prefer to have this curry with Kerala Appam…..you can have with Kerala Rice, but i suggest to reduce the amount of gravy. You can take in the ingredients 3/4 cup of thin coconut milk and 1/2 cup of thick coocnut milk, you will get very thick gravy then and it will be nice with rice.
Really easy to make. I tried it 2 times and both came out very tasty!!! Thanks for sharing!
Dear Rijo,
You are welcome!!!!!Happy to know that you liked it 🙂

when we are adding salt?
Dear Biju, we can add salt before adding the chicken pieces for cooking. Also check whether its sufficient before the final steps. I have added it now in the instructions and thanks for bringing it to my notice……Vimmy
