Crispy Egg Snack

This is an excellent snack you can make for your little ones. It has a crispy thick outer coating and can be made easily. I saw a similar recipe in the Food Network and wanted to try it out in Indian style and that’s how I arrived at this recipe. I am excited to post this recipe because the food presentation and food photography courtesy goes to my husband.

 


Crispy Egg Snack Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Hard boiled eggs – 4
  • Egg – 1
  • Basen (kadalamavu) – 1 cup
  • Bread crumbs – 1 cup
  • Baking powder – 1 ½ tsp
  • Water – ¼ cup
  • All purpose flour/Maida – ½ cup
  • Ginger  garlic paste – 1 tsp
  • Chilli powder – ¼  tsp
  • Pepper powder – ¼ tsp
  • Coriander leaves chopped – 1 tsp
  • Oil – for frying
  • Salt

(Note: 1 Cup = 250ml. Vary the amount of chilli as per your spice level)

Method:

  • Boil eggs and keep it ready

 

  • Mix well basen, ½ cup of bread crumbs, salt and baking powder.
  • Add to it ginger garlic paste, chilli powder, pepper powder and coriander leaves

  • Add water and mix it well. Pour 2 tbsp of oil to the vessel and mix well
  • Make it to 4 equal portions and cover the vessel and keep in the fridge for 15-20 min ( Apply oil to your palm if the mixture is sticking to your hands)

 

  • Apply good amount of oil in your palm and spread the mixture in your palm.
  • Place hard-boiled egg in the center and spread the mixture with your fingers to cover the egg.

 

  • Now roll it in all purpose flour, dip it in beaten egg.

 

  • Finally roll it with bread crumbs.

 

  • Deep fry in oil and serve hot with tomato sauce

      Thanks a lot for bringing it to my notice. I have corrected it. After shaping it into balls with egg inside, first roll in all purpose flour, then beaten egg and then in bread crumbs. Happy Cooking!!!!
