Crispy Egg Snack
This is an excellent snack you can make for your little ones. It has a crispy thick outer coating and can be made easily. I saw a similar recipe in the Food Network and wanted to try it out in Indian style and that’s how I arrived at this recipe. I am excited to post this recipe because the food presentation and food photography courtesy goes to my husband.
Crispy Egg Snack Recipe
Ingredients:
- Hard boiled eggs – 4
- Egg – 1
- Basen (kadalamavu) – 1 cup
- Bread crumbs – 1 cup
- Baking powder – 1 ½ tsp
- Water – ¼ cup
- All purpose flour/Maida – ½ cup
- Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
- Chilli powder – ¼ tsp
- Pepper powder – ¼ tsp
- Coriander leaves chopped – 1 tsp
- Oil – for frying
- Salt
Method:
- Boil eggs and keep it ready
- Mix well basen, ½ cup of bread crumbs, salt and baking powder.
- Add to it ginger garlic paste, chilli powder, pepper powder and coriander leaves
- Add water and mix it well. Pour 2 tbsp of oil to the vessel and mix well
- Make it to 4 equal portions and cover the vessel and keep in the fridge for 15-20 min ( Apply oil to your palm if the mixture is sticking to your hands)
- Apply good amount of oil in your palm and spread the mixture in your palm.
- Place hard-boiled egg in the center and spread the mixture with your fingers to cover the egg.
- Now roll it in bread crumbs, dip it in beaten egg.
- Finally roll it with bread crumbs.
- Deep fry in oil and serve hot with tomato sauce
