Uttapam

My hubby prefers dosa which is thick or tattu dosa and I prefer one which is crispy. So I alternatively keep making tattu dosa or ney roast at home. This time I decide to make dosa which both of us prefer and that’s how I made uttapam at home. My husband got his thick layer of dosa and I got the crispy top layer 🙂

 

Uttapam Recipe


Ingredients:

For Top Layer

  • Onion  – 3
  • Tomato  – 2
  • Green chilli (optional) – 3
  • Oil/ghee – 2 tsp per uttapam

You can use vegetables of your choice. Recipe for dosa batter preparation 

 

Method:

  • Finely chop the vegetables and keep it ready                             
  • Heat a dosa pan and grease it with oil
  • Pour the batter (approx 4-5 tbsp) in the centre and spread it to a medium round (Dosa should have medium thickness. Don’t make it very thin)
  • Put chopped onion on the top fully covering the dosa
  • Put some pieces of chopped tomato and green chilli on the top.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Pour 2 tsp of oil on the top. Cook for a min or two.
  • Flip the dosa and cook in low flame for a min or until onion becomes light brown in color. Serve hot
