Its December. What have you decided for this Special Month? I just love this month. Its the time of celebration, joy, Christmas, holidays……the description is endless. The best part is Christmas and of course the Christmas dinner 🙂 . We already started thinking how to celebrate it and what all to make for the special dinner. If want a gravy recipe for the main course then this is the best one. Check it out!!!!

 

Chicken Masala Recipe


 Ingredients:

  • Chicken – 500g (cut into medium pieces)
  • Onion – 2 big
  • Fennel seeds – ½ tsp
  • Tomato – 2 medium
  • Ginger  garlic paste – 3 tsp
  • Kashmiri chilli powder – ¾ – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – ½  tsp
  • Coriander powder – 2 tsp
  • Garam masala – 1  tsp
  • Water – 2 cups
  • Curry leaves – few
  • Oil –  5 tbsp
  • Salt

 

To Marinate

  • Red chilli powder – ¾ – 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder – 2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – ½  tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
  • Salt

 

Method:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Mix all the ingredients to marinate. Add little water into it and make it to a paste
  • Add chicken pieces into it and mix well.
  • Add to it one sliced onion, curry leaves and 2 cups of water.
  • Pressure cook the same. (Go for 1 whistle and immediately remove the cooker from the stove)

  • Heat oil in a pan and add splutter fennel seeds.
  • Add sliced onion and saute till it becomes brown (It takes almost 15 min for the same)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Add sliced tomato and saute till it becomes soft.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and saute for a minute
  • Add all masala, salt and saute for a minute or two.
  • Grind the same to a smooth paste and keep it ready.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • To the pan add the whole contents of the cooker and bring it to boil.
  • Add the grinded masala paste to it and mix well.
  • Cook with the pan covered in medium flame for 8- 10 mins till gravy becomes thick. (It takes little time for the masala to get into the chicken pieces. Serve this curry  1 or 2 hrs after preparation)
