Gobi Masala Recipe
Ingredients:
- Gobi /Cauliflower – 350g (medium sized)
- Cumin seeds/Jeera – ½ tsp
- Cardamom – 2
- Onion – 1 medium sized
- Ginger garlic paste – 2 tsp
- Coriander powder – 1 tsp
- Garam masala – ½ tsp
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Kashmiri /Mild chilli powder – 1 tsp
- Kasuri methi – ½ tsp
- Tomato – 1
- Water – 1 cup
- Fresh Cream – ¼ cup
- Coriander leaves
- Salt
- Oil
- Ghee – 1 tsp
(Note: 1 Cup = 250 ml
Vary the amount of chilli as per your spice level)
Method: (With Step-by-step pics)
Make cauliflower into small pieces. Soak it in hot water for 5-10 min to clean well. Drain out the water and keep it ready
Heat oil in a pan and add jeera and cardamom. Add sliced onion
Saute until onion becomes golden brown in color. Add ginger garlic paste and sauté for another 2-3 mins.
Reduce the flame and add all spice powders and sauté for a min or two.Add tomato and cook until its soft.
Remove it from the pan and allow it cool down and make it into a smooth paste with the help of blender.
Now heat 1 Tbsp oil in a pan and add cauliflower florets and mix well. Saute for 2-3 mins. Add ½ cup of water, salt and cover and cook until cauliflower is almost cooked.
Add the masala paste, remaining water, kasuri methi and mix well.
Cook for another 4-5 mins until gravy thickens. (You can vary the amount of water based on the thickness of gravy you want)
Reduce the flame and add fresh cream and cook for another 2-3 mins
Switch of the stove. Pour 1 tsp of ghee on the top. Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot!!!!
