Aloo Matar (Potato Peas Dry Recipe)

 


Aloo Matar Recipe

Ingredients: (Serves – 3-4)

  • Potato – 2 medium
  • Frozen or Fresh Peas – ¾ cup
  • Oil – 3 Tbsp
  • Jeera – ½ tsp
  • Onion – 1 small
  • Green Chilli – 2
  • Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
  • Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
  • Garam masala – ½ tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste – 3/4 tsp
  • Salt

 

 

Method:

  • Remove the skin of potato, and cut into small pieces
  • Add ½ cup water, salt and pinch of turmeric powder and pressure cook the same. Go for one whistle and immediately remove from stove.
  • Heat oil in a pan and splutter jeera
  • Add sliced onion, green chili and saute till onion becomes soft
  • Add chopped ginger garlic paste, all spice powders and saute for a min.
  • Add cooked potato pieces, peas and mix well. Keep the pan covered and cook for 8-10 min in medium flame or till its is combined well and is almost 80% dry. You can garnish with chopped coriander leaves. Serve hot
