Mutton Masala Recipe
Ingredients:
- Mutton – 500g (cut into medium pieces)
- Onion – 2 big
- Fennel seeds (perumjeerakam) – ½ tsp
- Green Chilli – 2
- Ginger garlic paste – 3 tsp
- Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
- Coriander powder – 2 tsp
- Pepper powder – ½ tsp
- Garam masala – 1 ½ tsp
- Curry leaves – few
- Oil
- Salt
To Marinate
- Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
- Coriander powder – 2 tsp
- Lemon juice – 1 tsp
- Salt
Method:

- Mix all the ingredients to marinate. Add little water into it and make it to a paste
- Add mutton pieces into it and mix well
- Pressure cook it till mutton is cooked. ( I usually wait for 3 whistles)
- Heat oil in a pan and add sliced onion, fennel seeds and curry leaves.
- Cook with the pan covered and stir in between till onion turns brown in color (take time for this step and make sure onion turns brown in color)
- Add ginger garlic paste, green chilli and cook for 2-3 min.
- Add red chilli, turmeric, coriander powder, pepper powder, garam masala, salt and cook for 2-3 min.
- Add cooked mutton (all contents of cooker) and mix well.
- Cook with the pan covered in medium flame till oil starts appearing on top. Serve hot
