Flour Butter Cream


Flour Butter Cream Recipe


  • All purpose flour – 2 ½ Tbsp
  • Milk – 1/3 cup
  • Fresh cream – 1/3 cup
  • Butter – ½ cup (at room temperature)
  • Icing sugar – ½ cup
  • Vanilla extract – ¾ tsp


(Note: 1 cup = 250ml)

In a pan take milk, cream and all purpose flour (Adding cream is optional. You can replace it with milk. Cream gives a special taste to the final butter cream prepared)



Using a whisk mix well so that everything is combined. Make sure no lumps are there



Keep the pan on stove on medium flame and with whisk stir continuously



Cook until the mixture becomes thick. It will take a min or two only. Allow the mixture to cool down completely



Take butter and icing sugar in a bowl. Add cooled flour mixture, 1 Tbsp at a time mixing well after each addition



Add in vanilla essence and mix until everything is combined well and you get thick, smooth and creamy butter cream. This cream is less sweet and pipes well. Use it for piping of cupcakes and frosting of cakes
