Pulisheery Recipe
Ingredients: (Serves 4-5)
- Curd – 1 Cup
- Cucumber/Papaya/Ash gourd – 1 cup (cubed)
- Water – 1 cup
- Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
- Green chilli – 2
- Salt
For Grinding
- Coconut – ½ cup
- Jeera – 1 pinch
- Garlic – 1 clove
- Shallots – 4
- Green chilli – 2
- Water – 3 Tbsp
For Seasoning
- Oil – 4 Tbsp
- Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
- Curry leaves – few
- Dry red chilli – 2
- Chilli powder – ¼ tsp
(Note: 1 cup = 250ml
Vary the amount of chilli as per your spice level)
Method:
In a bowl take the cubed cucumber/papaya. Ash gourd. Add water, turmeric, green chilli and salt. Cover it with a lid and cook till its cooked.
Take all the ingredients to grind in a mixer and grind it well.
Add it to the cooked vegetable and cook in medium flame for 4-5 mins
Mix the curd well so that no lumps are there. Reduce the flame and add curd to the vegetable mixture. Allow it to heat up and remove it from stove before it starts boiling.
For the seasoning part heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds.
Add curry leaves and dry red chilli, chilli powder and immediately pour it over the curry prepared. Serve hot.
