Parippu Vada Recipe
Ingredients: (Makes 14 Vadas)
- Kadala Parippu (Chana Dal) – 1 cup
- Onion – 1 medium
- Ginger – ½ inch piece
- Green chilli – ½ tsp
- Curry leaves – 3-4 springs (chopped)
- Asafoetida – 1 pinch
- Salt
- Oil – for frying
(Note: 1 Cup = 250 ml
Vary the amount of chilli as per your spice level)
Method: (With Step-by-Step Pictures)
Soak the chana dal in water for 2-3 hrs
Drain water well from dal
Coarsely grind it (Few seconds of grinding is sufficient)
Finely chop all the vegetables and add it to the dal
Add asafetida and salt also and mix well.
Make it to small balls.
Wet your hands and flatten each balls in your palm
(Once its done, don’t delay in frying as there are chances to crack)
Heat oil in a deep frying pan. Carefully put it to the hot oil
Fry in medium heat till its crisp and golden brown in color, turning in between
Drain it on a paper towel and serve hot.
