Meen Mutta Thoran Recipe
Ingredients:
- Meen Mutta/Fish Roe – 150 gm
- Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
- Small onion/shallots – 6-8
- Onion – 1
- Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
- Green chilli – 2
- Fennel seed powder – ½ tsp
- Chilli Powder – ¾ tsp
- Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
- Coriander powder – 1 tsp
- Garam masala – ½ tsp
- Grated coconut – ½ cup
- Water – 1/3 cup
- Curry leaves – few
- Oil
- Salt
(Note: 1 Cup = 250ml. Vary the amount of chilli as per your spice level)

Clean the fish roe and keep it ready
Heat oil in a nonstick pan and splutter mustard seeds.
Add sliced onion, shallots and curry leaves.
Once onion is golden brown in color add ginger garlic paste, green chilli and sauté for a min or two. Add all spice powders and sauté for a min or two
Roughly chop fish roe and add it to the pan. Add grated coconut and salt
Gently mix and put the masala over the fish roe. Add water and cover and cook. Keep stirring in between
Cook until fish roe is cooked well and is dry. Put a handful of curry leaves on the top. Serve hot !!!!!!
