Eggless Custard Cookies

Ingredients: (Makes 12 cookies)


  • All purpose flour – ½ cup
  • Custard Powder – ½ cup
  • Baking soda – ½ tsp
  • Powdered sugar – 3 Tbsp
  • Vanilla essence – ½ tsp
  • Butter – ½ cup (melted and cooled)


(Note: 1 cup = 250 ml

Vary the amount of sugar as per your sweet level)

Method: (With Step-by-Step Pictures)


In a bowl mix together flour, custard powder, baking soda and powdered sugar



Add in vanilla essence. Add butter and start mixing



Knead until u get a dough together (Vary the amount of butter to get the dough together)

Keep it in the fridge for 1 hr. Remove from fridge. Take out small portions of it



Make it into small balls



Gently press it and place on a baking tray lined with butter paper



Preheat the oven to 180 degree celsius. Bake in the middle rack for 15-20 mins or till to start getting the baked smell in your kitchen. Allow the cookies to cool down completely. Once it cools down the cookies becomes very crispy. Enjoy!!!!, pub-8807793439541123, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

  1. After. Taking out the dough from the fridge it was very very sticky and thin unable to make small cookies shape can i skip the fridge step.

    • Hi Elizabeth,

      Basic behind keeping in fridge is that, the butter solidifies and it helps you to get a dough which is easy to work with. Also it helps to hold shape of cookies when baking. Not sure what exactly happened at your end, bcos butter always solidifies when u keep in fridge. If you skip this step, you can bake, but cookie may spread too much and will be thin while baking. the taste remains same.
