Eggless Custard Cookies
Ingredients: (Makes 12 cookies)
- All purpose flour – ½ cup
- Custard Powder – ½ cup
- Baking soda – ½ tsp
- Powdered sugar – 3 Tbsp
- Vanilla essence – ½ tsp
- Butter – ½ cup (melted and cooled)
(Note: 1 cup = 250 ml
Vary the amount of sugar as per your sweet level)
Method: (With Step-by-Step Pictures)
In a bowl mix together flour, custard powder, baking soda and powdered sugar
Add in vanilla essence. Add butter and start mixing
Knead until u get a dough together (Vary the amount of butter to get the dough together)
Keep it in the fridge for 1 hr. Remove from fridge. Take out small portions of it
Make it into small balls
Gently press it and place on a baking tray lined with butter paper
Preheat the oven to 180 degree celsius. Bake in the middle rack for 15-20 mins or till to start getting the baked smell in your kitchen. Allow the cookies to cool down completely. Once it cools down the cookies becomes very crispy. Enjoy!!!!
Hi, i take theu dough out of the refrigerator can I roll it and use a cookie cutter?
Hi Minakshi….Yes you can use cookie cutter also
After. Taking out the dough from the fridge it was very very sticky and thin unable to make small cookies shape can i skip the fridge step.

Basic behind keeping in fridge is that, the butter solidifies and it helps you to get a dough which is easy to work with. Also it helps to hold shape of cookies when baking. Not sure what exactly happened at your end, bcos butter always solidifies when u keep in fridge. If you skip this step, you can bake, but cookie may spread too much and will be thin while baking. the taste remains same.

Hi Mahima….Its 180 degree Celsius
