Bread Bajji Recipe
Ingredients: (Serves 2)
- Bread – 2 slices
- Basen (kadalamavu) – 1/3 cup
- Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
- Turmeric powder – 1 pinch
- Asafoetida – 1 pinch
- Baking Soda – 1 pinch
- Water
- Oil – For frying
- Salt
(Note: 1 cup =250 ml)
Method: (With Step-by-Step Pictures)
Remove the sides of bread and cut it into 4 pieces.
Mix well basen, chilli powder, Turmeric powder, baking soda, asafoetida and salt
Add water slowly and mix well so that no lumps are there. The consistency should be thick and it should be such that you are able to dip the bread pieces in it and a thick coating is formed. (I used less than 1/3 cup of water)
Heat oil in a pan and when its hot dip bread pieces in the batter and put it in oil.
Fry it in medium heat until its crisp and golden brown in color, turning in between. Serve hot with tomato sauce.
