Punjabi Style Samosa

Punjabi Style Samosa Recipe

For the Wrapping:

  • Plain Flour/Maida – ½ cup
  • Wheat Flour/Atta – ½ cup
  • Ghee – 1 ½ tsp
  • Oil – 1 tsp
  • Salt
  • Water

You can use different style of filling for the samosa. For Chicken filling recipe please click here.

For egg filling recipe, please click here.  You can use vegetable filling or any filling of your choice.

(Note: 1 cup = 250 ml

Vary the amount of chilli powder as per your spice level

When we are making the masala for stuffing, it taste better when its spicy. The intensity reduces when we fry the samosa)

Method: (With Step-by-step pics)

Take the plain flour and wheat flour in a bowl. Add salt and give a mix

Add ghee to it.

Add water to it little at a time and mix until dough comes together and will be like chappati dough

Finally on the top add 1 tsp of water and knead well

Cover the bowl and let the dough rest for 15 mins. By this time make the filling part and keep it ready.

Take the dough and divide it to 6 equal portions.

Take one portion of it and roll it to an oval shape (Don’t roll it very thin)

Cut it in the middle (Each half should be such that we can make it in the shape of a cone when we fold it)

Take one portion of it and make it in the form of a cone.  Apply little water in the edge so that it sticks.

Add 3 tsp of filling (I am making it to medium sized samosa. You can vary the quantity of filling and the size of the cone). Apply little water on the edges

With your fingers press the edges nicely

Repeat the above steps and finish the entire lot.

Heat oil in a pan and reduce heat to medium flame. Fry the samosas

Keep turning the samosas in between until its golden brown in color and remove from oil. (It takes approx 6-8 mins for the color of samosa to change to golden brown)

Remove the excess oil in a paper towel. Serve hot and Enjoy!!!!!!!
