Chicken Croquettes Recipe
Ingredients:
- Boneless chicken – 200 g (cubed)
- Pepper powder – 1 tsp
- Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
- Salt
- Butter – 2 Tbsp
- Onion – 1 (finely chopped)
- Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
- Mild Chili Powder – 1 tsp
- Turmeric Powder – ½ tsp
- Garam masala – 1 tsp
- Salt
- Flour – ½ cup
- Egg – 1
- Bread Crumbs – ½ cup
- Oil – For frying
For the Sauce
- Butter – 2 Tbsp
- Flour/Maida – 2 Tbsp
- Milk – ¾ Cup
- Pepper powder – 1 tsp
(Note: 1 cup = 250 ml
Vary the amount of chili powder as per your spice level)
Method: (With Step-by-Step Pics)
In a pan take cubed chicken, pepper, ginger garlic paste, salt and enough water and cook until chicken is cooked well. Take the chicken pieces out and finely chop it. In a pan heat 2 Tbsp of butter and add finely chopped onion and sauté till soft. Add ginger garlic paste all spice powders and sauté for a min or two. Add chopped chicken pieces and mix well so that everything is combined and is dry. Keep it aside
To make the sauce heat butter in a pan
Add 2 Tbsp of flour and mix well
Add pepper and salt and mix well. Add milk and stir well so that the sauce becomes thick. (Make sure it becomes thick well)
Add ¾ of the sauce prepared to the chicken (If required add remaining sauce, you should be able to roll it to Croquettes). Keep the chicken mixture in fridge for some time. It will be easy to work with. Apply little oil in your palm and shape it to small Croquettes
Now roll it in flour, beaten egg and then in bread crumbs
Heat oil in a pan and fry the Croquettes
Fry until its brown in color. Drain the excess oil in a paper towel and serve hot.
