- Beef – 500g cut into small size pieces
- Tomato – 1
- Ginger garlic paste – 2 tsp
- Red Chilli powder – ¾ tsp
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Coriander powder – 2 tsp
- Meat Masala/Garam Masala – 1 tsp
- Yogurt – ½ cup
- Cahews – 10-12
- Oil – 5 Tbsp
- Salt
For Marination
- Onion – 2 medium
- Ginger garlic paste – 2 tsp
- Turmeric Powder – ½ tsp
- Coriander powder – 1 ½ tsp
- Green chilli – 2
- Salt
Method: (With Step-by-Step Pictures)
Soak almonds in 4tbps of hot water and keep it for some time. Grind the same to get a smooth paste and keep it aside. Mix all the ingredients to marinate. Add the beef pieces and mix well.
Pressure cook the same. (I go for 4-5 whistles. No need to add water while pressure cooking the beef)
Heat oil in a pan and add sliced tomato and sauté till it becomes soft.
Once tomato becomes soft add ginger garlic paste and sauté for a mi. Add all spice powders and sauté for a min or two or till oil starts appearing on the sides.
Add cooked beef and mix well. Cover it and cook for another 5-6 min.
Reduce the flame and add yogurt and cashew paste and mix well. Cover and cook for another 4-5 mins. (If you feel gravy is thick add little hot water to reduce it)
Pour 2 Tbsp of oil on the top. Serve hot.

you say 4-5 whistles what does that mean
Hi Svein….. Do you use Pressure cooker for cooking. Each time the pressure comes out continuously its called a whistle. We Indians widely use Pressure cooker and it helps in fast cooking and reduces the cooking time
one doubt, almond paste or cashew paste
Zonia i used Cashew paste. Fresh cream will also work fine
Vimmy one doubt, i thought of trying this today, i dont have cashew…
i got almond
and also for this recipe v should use yoghurt and fresh cream?
Dear Zonia,
In the recipe i added yogurt. You can either use cashew paste or fresh cream. Both will work fine. Instead of cashew paste you can try almond paste. I have tried it once and taste was ok.
