Prawns Dry: Prawns Roast (Kerala Style)

Prawn Roast

A simple dish. Easy to prepare. Taste good and looks good. Try it out!!!!

Prawn Roast Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Prawns cleaned – 250g
  • Oil – 6 tbsp
  • Onion – 2 big
  • Kashmiri/Mild Chilli Powder – ½ tsp
  • Green Chilli – 3
  • Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Coriander powder – ½ tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste – 2 tsp
  • Lemon juice – ½ tsp
  • Curry leaves – 10

To Marinate:

  • Chilli powder – 1 tsp
  • Kashmiri/Mild chilli powder – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste – 2 tsp
  • Lemon juice – 1 tsp
  • Salt

(Note: Vary the amount of chilli as per your spice level)

Method:

  1. Mix all the ingredients to marinate. Add little water into it and make it to a paste.
  2. Add cleaned prawns into it and keep it in the fridge for half an hour.
  3. Heat oil in a nonstick pan and roast the prawns in a low-medium heat until its golden brown in color. Remove it from the pan
  4. To the pan add sliced onion, curry leaves. (Add oil if required)
  5. When onion turns golden brown in color add ginger garlic paste, green chilli and cook for 4-5 min.
  6. Add kashmiri chilli, turmeric and coriander powder and cook for 2-3 min. (Sprinkle little water or add little oil if masala is too dry
  7. Add roasted prawns, lemon juice and mix well.
  8. Cook for another 4-5 min and serve hot.

Tips:

  • Always cook prawns in low- medium heat.
  • Kashmiri chilli powder gives good red color to your dish.
