Easy Chocolate Burfi
- Milk powder – 1 cup
- Coco powder – 3-4 tsp
- Milk – 3/4 cup
- Sugar – 2/3 cup
- Saffron – few strands
- Cardamom powder – ¼ tsp
- Maida – 1 Tbsp
- Ghee – 3-4 Tbsp
- Chopped nuts – 2-3 Tbsp (Cashew/almonds/peanuts)
(Note: 1 Cup = 250 ml. Vary the amount of sugar as per your sweet level)
Method: (With Step-by-step pics)
Line a tray with aluminum foil or Grease a tray and keep it ready
Heat a nonstick pan and add 2 Tbsp ghee and add milk. Add cocoa powder and mix well. Add milk milk powder and mix well. Make sure no lumps are formed. Add sugar, saffron, cardamom and mix well. In a low to medium flame stir continuously.
When it starts boiling and thickening, reduce the flame add maida and mix well..
Add ghee and continue stirring till it starts leaving from the sides of pan.
Pour it immediately to the greased tray
Level it to get a smooth finish using back of a greased spoon
Put a good layer of chopped nut on the top and press it with back of greased spoon
Cut it while it is still warm using a greased knife and break it into pieces when its cooled completely. Clean the knife in between to slice evenly. Serve and enjoy!!!!! (If u feel the burfi is soft to slice, keep it in the fridge for 15-20 mins and slice with a knife after dipping in hot water)
