Chicken Pops (Kids Snack)

Chicken Pops

Chicken Pops Recipe

Ingredients: (Serves 2-3)

  • Boneless Chicken – ½ Cup (cut into small cubes)
  • Chilli powder – ½ tsp
  • Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  • Chicken masala/garam masala – ½ tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
  • All purpose flour – ½ cup
  • Baking soda – 1 pinch
  • Spice/chicken masala – 1 tsp
  • Egg – 1
  • Water – 1/3 cup
  • Oil – for frying
  • Salt

(Note: 1 Cup = 250 ml
If you are using maida instead of all purpose flour take 1 Tbsp less and mix it with 1 Tbsp of cornflour
I used Robertsons Chicken Spice. This gives a special taste for the coating. You can add spice of your choice.)

Method: (With Step-by-Step Pictures)

Cut the boneless chicken into small cubes. (Smaller the better as the size doubles because of batter after frying)

Marinate the chicken pieces with chilli powder, turmeric powder, chicken masala, ginger garlic paste and salt and keep it marinated for 1 or 2 hrs

Mix well all purpose flour, spice, salt and baking soda.

Add the beaten egg to the flour mixture

Add water little at a time and mix well. (The batter should be such that when u dip the chicken cubes there should be a coating of the batter on the chicken cubes. Vary the amount of water accordingly)

Fry in oil in medium flame turning in between until its golden brown in color. (When you fry the pieces should be immersed in oil. Select pan and pour oil accordingly)

Remove the excess oil in a paper towel and serve hot with tomato sauce.
