Carrot Halwa Recipe
Ingredients: (Serves 3-4)
- Carrot – ½ kg
- Ghee – 4 Tbsp
- Cashews – 2 Tbsp
- Almonds – 2 Tbsp (chopped)
- Milk – ½ Litre
- Sugar – ½ cup (vary as per your taste)
- Cardamom powder – ¼ tsp
Method: (With Step-by-Step Pictures)
Grate the carrots and keep it ready
Heat 2 Tbsp of ghee in a pan and roast the dry fruits and keep it aside (Roasting dry fruits is an optional step)
To the same pan add the grated carrot. Mix it well so that the ghee gets evenly covered on the carrot
Add milk and mix well.
In a few minutes the milk starts to boil and keep stirring in between.
When mixture starts thickening add cardamom powder and sugar and mix well
Continue cooking and when it starts to thicken further add dry fruits and mix well.
When mixture is almost 75% dry add remaining ghee.
Reduce the flame and continue cooking by stirring in between till halwa becomes completely dry. Serve hot with a scoop of ice cream.
