Homemade Chocolates(With Coconut Filling)
Ingredients:
- Milk Compound Chocolate – 150g
- Coconut oil – 1 tsp
- Desiccated Coconut – ½ cup
- Condensed milk – 4-5 Tbsp
- Cardamom powder – 1 pinch (optional)
- Oil – For greasing
(Note: 1 Cup = 250 ml
Vary the amount of ingredients as per the mold size you are using)
Method:
Take chocolate molds, apply a very thin layer of oil with the help of brush. (I used baking spray and spread it with help of a small brush. I used silicon chocolate molds)
Take half portion of the milk compound and finely slice it with a sharp knife. This help in even melting of chocolate. Take it in a glass bowl and add ½ tsp of coconut oil. I used double boiler method for melting chocolate. Boil water to boil in a sauce pan. Stack the glass bowl on the top of it. Gently stir in between until chocolate is completely melted. Remove from stove. (You can continue to keep the melted chocolate in hot water)
Take the molds and pour almost ½ tsp in each. Gently swirl the mold so that there will be a layer of chocolate in the side of mold. This helps us to do the filling part. Another way is to use a small brush and make a layer of chocolate in the sides of molds. I did this step once only, as the filling I used was not runny. If the filling is thin you need to repeat this step
Place the mold in the fridge for 15-20 min, else in the freezer 5 mins is sufficient
For the filling part, take desiccated coconut and add milkmaid. Add cardamom powder if required. Mix until you get a smooth mixture for filling. You can vary the amount of condensed milk
Take the chocolate mold from fridge and put the filling in each mold
Melt the remaining chocolate in the same way and pour in the molds, till its filled to the top. Tap to remove air bubbles.
Keep in the freezer for 5 mins or fridge for another 10-15 mins and your home made chocolate is ready. (You can try different type of fillings for the chocolate)
