Aval Ladoo Recipe
Ingredients: (Makes 14 small ladoos)

  • Aval/Poha – 1 ½ cup
  • Ghee – 1/3 cup
  • Dry fruits (Raisins) – 1 ½ Tbsp
  • Powdered Sugar – 1/3 cup
  • Cardamom – 3 pods

(Note: 1 cup = 250 ml
Vary the amount of sugar as per your sweet level)

Method: (With Step-by-Step Pictures)

Dry roast the poha for 8-10 mins or until its starts to become golden brown in color.

Allow it to cool down. Grind it to fine powder along with the cardamom seeds.

Heat the ghee in a pan and fry the raisins.

Reduce the flame and add the powdered poha and mix well and switch of the stove.

Add powdered sugar and mix well. Do a taste test to decide on the amount of sugar

Make it to ladoos when the mixture is still warm.

You need make ladoos when its warm, otherwise it will dry and you will find it difficult to make ladoos. (Also melt little ghee and keep it in your side. If you are finding it difficult to make it to small balls add this ghee little at a time and make ladoos. If you want to reduce the usage of add very little warm milk and make ladoos. But to get the exact taste you need to add ghee itself.)
