Ingredients
  • Potato – 2 Medium Sized
  • Basen (kadalamavu) - 1 cup
  • Water – ⅔ cup
  • Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
  • Garam Masala – ½ tsp
  • Asafoetida – 1 pinch
  • Baking Soda – 2 pinch
  • Oil – For frying
  • Salt
Instructions
  1. Peel the skin of potato and slice it into thin pieces (Slice with knife only. Do not use any slicer)
  2. Mix well basen, chilli powder, garam masala, baking soda, asafoetida and salt
  3. Add water slowly and mix well so that no lumps are there.
  4. Heat oil in a pan and when its hot dip potato pieces in the batter and put it in oil.
  5. Fry it in medium heat until its crisp and golden brown in color. Serve hot with tomato sauce.
  6. Tips:
  7. Use medium-sized potato only as it gives a good oval shape.
  8. To know oil is hot enough, drop a small amount of batter in oil, it should immediately sizzle to the top.
